About Bonnie Britt

Bonnie Britt is a National Board Certified master teacher with many years of experience at Kindergarten, First, Second, and Third grades. The last 13 years of teaching, she co-taught a multi-age classroom of first, second, and third graders. She taught all the math and science, and her teaching partner taught all the language arts. For many years, Bonnie worked as a mathematics mentor within her school and district. She retired from the Fontana Unified School District in Fontana, California in 2005.

Looking for a new challenge, she immediately began her second career as an independent elementary mathematics consultant.  Bonnie has done much of her consulting work in conjunction with the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools Mathematics Office. She has trained elementary school faculties, after-school program facilitators, and parent groups all over southern California. Her particular expertise lies in working with adults and children to develop concepts, skills, and mathematical reasoning using math games.

Bonnie has presented at many conferences in the southern California area.  Most recently, in November of 2008, Bonnie conducted a workshop at the California Mathematics Council – South’s annual Fall Conference.  Her focus was using games to effectively meet mathematics standards while engaging students in active, meaningful learning.

Bonnie graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She earned her Master’s in Elementary Education in 1995 from California State University, San Bernardino, California, and in 2001 she became a National Board Certified Teacher.
